Lords Of The Underground (L.O.T.U.G.) ist ein Hip-Hop-Trio, das aus den MC's Mr. Funke, Dupré "Doitall" Kelly aus Newark, New Jersey und DJ Lord Jazz aus Cleveland besteht, die sich noch während ihrer Studienzeit begegnet sind. Durch einen Freund wurden sie mit dem legendären Produzenten und Radiopersönlichkeit Marley Marl bekannt gemacht, und zusammen mit ihm und K-Def legten sie die Grundlage für ihr Debütalbum von 1993, Hier Kommen Die Lords, das 2018 sein 25-jähriges Jubiläum feiert. Obwohl ihr Name gewalttätigen Gangsta-Rap suggeriert, kombinieren Lords Of The Underground sozialbewusste Raps mit funkigen Schlagzeugbreaks, Samples und kraftvollen Beats. Ihre ersten Singles "Psycho", "Funky Child" und die #1-Hip-Hop-Hit-Single, das Signature-Lied der Gruppe, "Chief Rocka" waren alle auf dem ersten Album vertreten, das #16 in der Billboard R&B-Charts erreichte und #66 in den Billboard 200 Albumcharts.
